Firefighters
For those interested in joining as a volunteer member, we ask that you be passionate, committed, and willing to sacrifice your time to assist those community members who are in need of our help.
All applicants to the department must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Annual physical
- Compliance with LFD By-Laws & SOG’s

Junior Firefighters
The Junior Firefighter membership category provides a training program for young men and women, ages 14-18 who are interested in serving their community and preparing to become active firefighters upon reaching the age of 18.
All applicants to the department must:
- Ages 14-18
- Student of the Lancaster School District
- Compliance with LFD Junior Firefighter By-Laws

Auxiliary
The object of this organization is to assist and promote the ideals of both the Lancaster Fire Department and the Auxiliary since its inception in 1970. The members strive to further this purpose when firefighters are on scene at an alarm or perhaps less dangerous duties. The Auxiliary helps with fundraising events, holiday celebrations, giving aid to our community, food for the needy, toy drives, etc. Membership is open to spouses, significant others, and the family of Lancaster Fire Department members. We enthusiastically welcome new members.
