“Meet the Member” Gregg Smith. Gregg joined the fire department in 1975. The Smith family has a long history of fire service, starting with his grandfather Cy Smith. Gregg enjoys giving back to his community which is why he has volunteered for so long. Gregg received the Lancaster Fire Department Firefighter of the Year award in 2016 and the Chiefs award in 2020. He has held the position of Citizens Hose President for 29 years. He was also the LFD President from 2001-2008 and is currently the Fire department quartermaster.
